Reporting and analytics are powerful and important tools in any business, and SAP recognizes this for its clients. We now have numerous options for arranging reports in SuccessFactors for our BizX users (offline and by email), however, when it comes to scheduling a report for an external user or a non-BizX user, we only have one choice – transfer via SFTP.
SFTP is a strong, safe alternative for transferring data to external suppliers via SuccessFactors, but it has limitations and drawbacks. Companies that choose this option must incur the expense of establishing an SFTP structure or employ the services of a third party that has already done so.
This is not a problem for large or well-established firms, but it may be a problem for smaller organizations.
Today, I’m going to share my experience with a similar type of difficulty that our firm had, as well as the alternative we devised to save this extra expense.
Statement of the Problem:
HR must arrange a monthly report to a vendor as part of one of their business requirements. This vendor is a tiny business that lacks an SFTP mechanism to receive automatic files from SuccessFactors.
