According to an ISG expert speaking at All Day DevOps, the challenging global market for IT talent necessitates innovative techniques for acquiring, retaining, and engaging personnel.
According to an expert with Information Services Group, a leading global technology research and advisory firm, enterprises and service providers are facing a talent crunch that requires them to double down on employee engagement programs in order to attract and retain people with critical skill sets.
“Talent scarcity, the ‘Great Resignation’ and attrition have dramatically increased the challenge of retaining employees,” Chowning said. “Enterprises are using a broad range of strategies to not only preempt employee exits but also to preempt the need to counter-offer, which is more costly and rarely succeeds in retaining employees longer-term.”
Finding and keeping talent is a big concern for tech leaders across all industries, according to ISG research. In a recent ISG study of procurement executives, salary inflation was rated as the top issue by 64% of respondents. Talent shortages were cited by 38% of respondents, trailing only wage inflation, general inflation, and supply chain disruptions on the list of top concerns.
