While the majority (60%) of HR professionals in Canada are working on diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, just a handful are monitoring the efficacy of their programmes.

According to a survey commissioned by Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) Canada and Human Resources Professionals Association, just 22% formally measure DEI (HRPA).

“DEI has sprung onto the scene in HR departments throughout the country, and firms are scurrying to ensure best practises are being applied, since employees (particularly young people) are expecting this from employers,” says Steve Mossop, EVP of Leger, of the survey’s findings.

“But, we are still in the early phases of these projects, and while many organizations are experiencing favorable outcomes, the judgment is yet out on whether these initiatives will result in long-term significant change.”

According to a recent Mercer survey, three out of every five firms (60%) have a multi-year DEI plan.

According to a recent research, more than two-thirds (67%) of HR and business leaders say their firm is only somewhat successful in its efforts to build a more diverse, egalitarian, and inclusive workplace.
