The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota has launched a new program to provide graduates with the skills they need to thrive in the rapidly expanding HR tech sector. Workday’s unique Rise apprenticeship program was developed in collaboration with Helios Consulting, a St. Paul-based services partner of the company.
Workday is the HR tech platform of choice for close to 10,000 companies worldwide, including half of the Fortune 500. Helios’ innovative program will address the increasing demand from employers for workers with Workday skills while also providing training and paid employment for new and recent graduates.
According to Ascan Koerner, associate dean for undergraduate education, “In today’s rapidly evolving economy, CLA’s mission depends not only on ensuring that students develop the core career competencies that allow them to thrive in their careers but also on giving students the specific skills that today’s employers demand.”
This is about developing new routes to prosperous employment in one of the Twin Cities’ and the nation’s fastest-growing industries.
According to Helios President Trevor Lee, “CLA graduates are renowned for critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.” “These skills are in high demand in the expanding HR technology sector.
Graduates from the University of Minnesota who take part in Rise will not only receive training and advice from professionals in the field, but also paid employment starting on the first day of training and a path to joining Helios’ Fortune 500 clients after the program is over.
According to Nick Stevens, founding partner of Helios, “University of Minnesota has long been renowned for its dedication to innovative and creative concepts that might provide access to economic opportunities for students.”
“We’re thrilled to team up with ‘The U’ and realize the promise of apprenticeships to assist more students access high-paying employment, while simultaneously addressing a crucial talent need for the Fortune 500,” the company said.
